Billy Buttons

I'm designing my first house and it couldn't be a cooler project, a 1966 3-bedroom house in the Hollywood Hills. The interior is going to be strictly mid-century and as authentic as possible. One thing I already love about it is the owner's use of flowers in every room. Lately I've been seeing a lot of the above "Billy Buttons" also called "Chicken Balls", maybe because their whimsical shape and texture look really really good with the trendy mid-century aesthetic. Their official name is Craspedia, a perennial herbaceous member of the daisy family and a native wildflower of New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania. It has been cultivated in the United States as a garden flower only since 1988! They are available March through October and typically last 10-12 days.
