A few summers ago I bought a Goyard wallet in Paris because I think they're the coolest monogram brand out there. What's so great about Goyard in comparison to say Louis Vuitton is that you can have your wallet, tote, luggage or any other product they make painted with your intitals or stripes, in any color you want (they do crown stensils too!). Matt and I both have wallets and my foodie friend Amy Keller has a coin purse with "AK47" painted on it, because she is such a bad ass.
The small background that I know about the "personalisation" process is that La Maison Goyard applied the colors of an aristocratic family's coat of arms or initals to their luggage. I'm looking for an old trunk that I can use as a little coffee table sometime, so if you see one—let me know. In the states you can get Goyard at the Boston, LA, and NY Barney's or at the only US Goyard store in San Francisco...and of course there's always Paris.
