I was checking out the Counter website, a great source for purchasing art, and saw the above black and white photo, "To Diane Love Gillian (Homage to Diane Arbus)". Like famed photo legend Diane Arbus, Wearing approaches and photographs ordinary people off the street. This particular shot is of a teenage "biker girl" that Wearing restyled in order to recreate the look and feel of a 1960's Diane Arbus street portrait. Wearing even used the same medium format Rolliflex camera with flash that Arbus used. This photo won the Turner Prize in 1997 and in my opinion really does pay a true homage to Diane Arbus. You can purchase the hand-printed photo (20"x16")right here for $977.
