My friend Alexis is visiting me this week and she, being a recent grad of RISD, has been showing me all sorts of cool things on the interweb. One is the British blog Inhabitat, "future-forward design for the world you inhabit". I found a really cool post about the integration of reused and recycled materials in the design process. More specifically the Tom Dixon and Artek collaboration that recently-debuted: The 2nd Cycle line of furniture that is literally bringing vintage modernist furniture back into a new market. They've re-collected and re-issued the old pieces (from old factories, shipyards, even flea markets) and are introducing them as a new line of beautifully aged pieces. For more info on the line click here.
