Eero Saarinen Dining Table

This classic table designed in 1956 that some call the "Tulip" table, because it goes with Saarinen's Tulip chairs so well, has been popping up all over in recent months. The more I've seen it, the more I've seen it with traditional decor: big books, pink roses, non-mid century dining chairs, and I think it looks better than ever that way. Recently the tabletop has been re-issued with in veneer that comes in walnut, oak, and cherry, but I think if I were to pony up for this table I'd probably get the classic laminate or marble. Below is a shot of the walnut veneer top with a black laminate base. Check out Hive Modern for more info.
