I don't know what it is, but if I get up in the middle of the night for some reason, like, I don't know, my dog leaps onto my headboard at full steam—I have to know what time it is or I can't fall back to sleep. Usually I relied on Matt's iHome alarm system, but he's since given up that white block (and just about everything else) for his iPhone. Long story short: I need a clock on my nightstand, badly. I have been eying these two Nelson clocks for some time now, and think I'm leaning towards the above Nelson Night Desk Clock ($365) designed in 1948. The one below, The Chronopak Desk Clock ($395) designed in 1949, is really really cool though, making it very hard to choose. What's your favorite?

I favor the wood casing over the gold.
I say the Nelson! Also, love the apt "Mad Men" illustration below. Cheers!
I like the wood contasting against metal and the black face contrasting with white accents. The Chronopak by Nelson is a piece of art.
I vote for the Nelson for sure. It would look AMAZING on your bedside table.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but both clocks are Nelsons! :-) ...thanks for your comments guys.
