New Stone Age is a design store on L.A.'s Third Street that has been around for 20 years. It's on the same strip as other great stores like Plastica, OK, Zipper, Blanche, and my favorite shoe store—Sigerson Morrison...what else could you want? They're known for a diverse and whimsical selection (from John Derian plates to Mao-era Chinese propoganda figurines). But one of the things I love most about their store is their bracelets and necklaces—which make great gifts. The above items are sort of a "summer camp meets exotic imports" kind of thing. Unfortunately they don't do e-commerce on their website but check it out anyway for a better idea of the store and for their contact info, or drop in if you can: 8407 W. Third.
