Bianchi Milano

Chicago is a big bike town. You might not think it considering much of the year there's weather that isn't exactly conducive to safe riding. Still, I see bikers out there everyday in the rain, sleet, and snow (what a coincidence—all three are forcasted for today). Biking in a blizzard is incredibly scary to see sometimes, but I really have to hand it to them. At our party this weekend my friend Brien, who is one of those guys you see biking in sub-zero temps, and I got to talking about his new Bianchi Milano ($499). The beautiful Italian bike comes in 3-speed and 8-speed configurations and I love the classic style and the bright aqua color contrasting the red tires. Bianchi claims that the bike is virtually maintenance-free and the fenders, steel chain guard, and LED safety light are handy if the skies do decide to open up. I'm still hoping to snag a 1973 Schwinn from my grandparent's garage for this summer, but if I can't this would be on the top of my bike wish list. Thanks Brien!

What a great blog! I am so glad I found you today. Wouldn't it be fun to base the color scheme of a room around the colors on the Bianchi Milano?

my mum has a lavender bianchi from at least 20 years ago, and she loves it to death! refuses absolutely to get a new one.
