Creole Thrift

My friend Legier who recently moved to L.A. from New Orleans (via New York) and I were dicussing design last night over a few bottles of Hoegaarden, and as I was leaving she handed me a book that she told me I had to borrow: Creole Thrift: Premium Southern Living Without Spending a Mint by Angele Parlange. Parlange proves that people's most interesting possessions don't have to be pricey; they are the things you find after digging through your grandmother's attic—the irreplaceable antiques or heirlooms that express "history and heart" in your home. Her book is filled with design ideas, recipes, as well as family stories that make for the best reading coffee table book I've ever put my hands on. Get it for $20 on Amazon.com—I guarantee you'll be inspired. Thanks Legier!
