>> just married!

Last weekend two of Matt and my besties tied the knot on the North Shore of Massachusetts overlooking the ocean on a perfect August day. Everything about it was breathtaking. We just ordered them a case of Just Married from the newly re-vamped Swanson Vineyards website to be delivered when they return from their honeymoon (Don't worry, I am pretty confident Griff and Ashley aren't reading this as they are in a remote area of Northern India). Congrats A+G!

>> vintage stamps

How cool is this!? My cousin stamped her wedding invitations with a bunch of vintage stamps, each one representing a part of their lives. Love it.

>> wedding certificates

These You+Me wedding certificates ($15) made me smile. They also have a cute birth certificate ($15). Fun keepsakes you could frame.

>> mr. boddington's studio

We just got back from our friend's killer wedding in Mexico and of course it's raining and earth-quaking here in L.A. just to rub it in. There are so many design elements of their soiree that were fab, but one of my favorites was all the paper goods from Mr. Boddington's Studio in New York. The colors, the pattern, it was so chic and so perfect for Mexico. Mr. Boddington's also has a great blog that would be great for wedding ideas or inspiration.

>> c magazine spread

C Magazine, a California style pub, featured our wedding in their first-ever Weddings Issue which just hit stands. Seems like forever ago now, but it all went down last October, probably about time to take that giant bow off of Harrison.

Brown Paper Design

Danielle Rowe Zunt of Brown Paper Design is a floral design goddess. I loved every last detail, like the above hanging orchid strands.

Cynthia Warren Design

I just got back a sampling of some of our wedding photos! I have to gush first about the incredible work that Cynthia Warren did on all our paper for the wedding. She was absolutely incredible. She often does special menus for Chez Panisse, so I knew I was in good hands. Above is our program, my favorite element of all. Totally rad arrow monogram that she came up with.

Each table was named after different fly fishing lures. Cynithia confessed one day that she had checked out three books on fly fishing from the library to really get into it!

Even Max Wanger's photos don't do them justice as she silk screened by hand each menu to match an exact Pantone color. (woah...Bridezilla!)

The Bag by iomoi

As a bridesmaid gift I gave out monogrammed canvas tote bags ($78-$135), one of several new products from iomoi, and then stuffed them each with a pair of Vans. They'd also make a practical and thoughtful holiday gift for almost anyone. Above is my friend Katie's bag sitting in style on an Eames lounger. I wish I had gotten myself one!

Wedding Turtle!

I am so excited to blog about a new company that is totally awesome called Wedding Turtle! Full disclosure: it was started by my lovely/genius/rad sister-in-law, but I would be hardcore endorsing it regardless. It's a website that people can use to share pictures after a wedding—no friending on Facebook, no email addresses, no "please email me those!", no downloading software—just as the WT tagline simply states: "your pictures...their pictures...married". You just upload and share. It is genius. I won't lie, Matt and I checked Wedding Turtle almost every day from Argentina (busted!) to see people's pics, and now there are well over 600 photos that we undoubtedly wouldn't have had if it weren't for Wedding Turtle. I love how the site combines all sorts of pics from iPhones to the latest Canons and even scanned photos--like a digital scrapbook. If you are getting married or just got married or know someone who is getting married soon, tell them about Wedding Turtle, it's free! Here are some of our Wedding Turtle greatest hits:

This photo is of the Wedding Turtle founder and my brother (handsome couple, no?) a scan from our photobooth, more on that soon!

Yellow Owl Workshop STDs

And here come the wedding posts. First: STDs...that's an obvious abbreviation for Save-The-Dates, right? Anyway, I was turned on to the San Francisco artist Christine Schmidt of Yellow Owl Workshop by our freaking-awesome wedding planners Kelsey and Alison of Alison Events. Working on the STDs was really fun, I sent over Christine an "inspiration board" of what we were looking for and she designed the final product and screen printed it herself in her studio. Yellow Owl is really blowing up (or has blown up?) and are stocking some of the coolest store's shelves in the country. I'm hoping to snag some holiday cards from them this year before they run out. Bonus: they print on 100% recycled paper.

Ikebe Shakedown

The Brooklyn-based afro-beat/funk/soul band that played our wedding, Ikebe Shakedown, just put out their first EP, Hard Steppin'. They RULE! To get an idea of their sound you can check out this YouTube clip or go to their website where you can get their new album for $10!

Feather boutonnieres

I'm planning to do a big wedding post detailing some of the design elements and vendors we used once the big day is behind us, but, I'm so excited about these boutonnieres that my florist, Danielle Rowe Zunt, and I made last night out of feathers that I had to post about them today. All it took was a quick trip to Necromance on Melrose to get a few 80-cent guinea feathers and a delicious Peruvian seafood meal at Mario's, and ta da, feather idea becomes reality. I showed it to Matt last night and he loves it.

Hardoy Butterfly Chair

Steven and Jeff, the owners over at Circa50, emailed me this weekend to talk about the famous Hardoy Butterfly Chairs. It was so funny, because we were just then deciding if we were going to use them at our wedding. They are placed around a firepit at The Parker where we will have our cocktail hour. I think they look great and would be fantastic for a small group, but we decided to take them out in the end to give people more room to schmooze.

The chair was first produced in 1938 by designer Jorge Ferrari Hardoy who sent just three pre-production models to the U.S. at the request of the Museum of Modern Art. One is in MoMA's collection and one is at the Frank Lloyd Wright house Fallingwater, but no one knows where the third went (your garage?). In 1947, Knoll produced the Butterfly chair, but four years later after losing a copyright infringement case against a competitor, they dropped it from their line. From that point on, millions of butterfly chairs were sold.

Goose Greese Cake Toppers

How absolutely necessary are these little wooden wedding cake toppers ($35-$90) from Goose Greese!? They even make blank ones for those DIYers out there.
