Visions and a Decision

I don't know if it was the last post about Louis XIV or what, but now I'm sort of in a 18th century France state of mind. I was referred to Steidlville, an independent German publishing house which also designs and prints for Chanel, Fendi, the Lagerfeld Gallery, for Elizabeth Arden, and Yohji Yamamoto (not too shabby). I was checking out their new releases and got totally stuck on this new photo book, Visions and a Decision. Combining black-and-white photographs by Karl Lagerfeld from the advertising campaign for Dom PĂ©rignon Oenothèque 1993 champagne and a story by Amanda Harlech, it charts the sensual fantasies of a young bachelor and his bride-to-be. “This is a story of a young handsome old-money couple”, explains Lagerfeld, “Everything is perfect, they’re just a little bored.” Pick up a copy for $40 right here.
